ABOUT

From her Surrey workshop, in the South of England, Uplift Furnishings' Sarah has been creating, repairing and upcycling salvaged and repurposed materials for many years. A huge advocate of the pre-loved movement that's building groundswell, she's on a mission to keep as much resources in circulation and out of landfill.

A prolific skip diver, quite literally, one man's trash is Sarah's treasure. She will see a potential use in almost any material and attempt to rescue and repair whatever she can. From turning a broken coat stand into plant pots and storm ravaged umbrellas into washbags, Uplift Furnishings aims to resurrect materials for a new life.

Utilising her DIY experience from property renovation together with sewing and crochet skills, Uplift Furnishings breathes new life into a wide variety of salvaged materials in unique and creative ways.

Please take a look around the site and see if you can spot how some repurposed treasures have been revived. Don't forget to check in on the blog posts where Sarah will take you on her journey from spotting 'waste' to utilising it in reimagined gifts and homewares.

Ethos

OUR ETHOS

Reducing Landfill

We believe that  "waste" isn't waste, until it's wasted.

Our creative, salvaged, handmade gifts & homewares, offer a more mindful and sustainable gift solution.

Recycled Materials

Using available resources

We are committed to making products which don't place unnecessary strain on resources, minimising negative impact to the planet. Re-purposed, recycled and reconsidered materials are a key factor in our sustainable solution.

Redefining Quality

Second hand does not mean second best.

By transforming tired and discarded materials, we believe that we can help shift perceptions of pre-owned and have a positive impact on purchase decision making. We hope to show that our range featuring  repurposed and revived materials can offer quality products that are environmentally considerate too.

Conscious Change

Uplift Furnishings is committed to reviving and shining a light on the lost cultures of repair over replace, resourcefulness, borrowing over buying and contribution.

Raising the consciousness of materials as limited resources, we hope will keep them in circulation.

Someone, somewhere, can use your excess.

Sourcing materials from others' surplus

Driving cyclical resourcing

By working with local companies making use of their surplus materials, off-cuts and 'waste', we're helping them reduce their environmental impact by avoiding landfill and be more sustainable. It also reduces the carbon footprint of our materials.
